Thank you for your interest in the Gardeners of the North Shore, a family-oriented club for people in the northern suburbs of Chicago who like to garden.

The club’s main objectives are to stimulate interest in gardening, to increase the horticultural knowledge of our members, to share experiences, and to promote civic pride in both public and private gardens.

We are actively seeking new members who share a love of America’s favorite outdoor activity: gardening! Regardless of your level of gardening knowledge, you can be assured of a warm welcome.  Anyone who enjoys gardening, lives within the huge boundaries of the North Shore, and is 16 years of age or older, may become a member.

Our club is the only non-specialty plant society which meets at the Chicago Botanic Garden.  We began in 1939 and a few years ago  changed our name from the Men’s Garden Club of the North Shore to more accurately reflect our current membership.   Our Club members are men and women from the North Shore area with an interest in gardening who want to share their enthusiasm with fellow gardeners.

The Gardeners of the North Shore boast a full calendar of events.  Participation is always voluntary.

– Monthly Meetings

– August: Flower and Garden Show

– August: Plant Sale

– December: Annual Awards Dinner

– Summer Field Trip
